A truly inspiring concert from Clapton, opening with Tulsa Time and Motherless Children both of which incorporating the slide guitar, Tulsa Time taken from his 1978 album Backless, although this live version runs at a higher tempo creating a more toe taping beat. Motherless Children remains true to the album version of the 1974 "breakthrough solo album" 461 Ocean Boulevard. Clapton's ability really shines throughout all the songs, especially the slower songs Wonderful Tonight and Same Old blues the guitar sings with the mesmeretic swaying of Clapton. One of the big crowd pleasers is Let it Rain, where the lighting effects really come into play, basking the crowd. There seems to be a good interaction between Tim Renwick, Donald "Duck" Dunn (on good form may I add) and Clapton, whilst Jamie Oldaker keeps the beat with some precision drumming. Chris Stainton on keyboards provides some cracking rhythm, supported by some impressive solo's, especially on the final part of Layla. All in all a testament to Clapton's truly honed skills, as a guitarists and vocalist.
